Being Compared, Getting Compared
Asian parents LOVE comparing their kids to other kids. THAT is a fact of asian life. So are maths and money; just ask the Asian kid sitting beside you. "Why can't you be like your sister? Why can't you beat your cousin?!" It pisses me off. It really does. I don't understand how my parent's can't understand the fact that I suck at maths or my fingers aren't long enough to reach an octave on the piano. Maybe that's why. But no. They don't take that into consideration. It's just a straightforward "YOU SUCK IN EVERY WAY". What pisses me off even more is the fact that they ignore your better days and make it the worst. In a really stupid way. "Hey Mum! I scored full marks in my maths test!" "NOT GOOD ENOUGH!! Well your brother/sister scored 200%!! Why can't you do that?!" Cue the onslaught of WTF's. You see? Even full marks isn't good enough. You think I've finished. Better wait, I'm not done yet. You see, my parents have a very close group of friends, each and everyone of them dedicated to degrading their poor child. And every time they have dinner together, they spend that time degrading their kid as much as possible, IN FRONT of the victim. Yes, harsh I know. Want more? Here's a little; they exaggerate beyond the recognition of truth. "...*blahblahblah* my daughter's music theory exam". "Really? How'd she go?" "OMYGEE so screwed it up so badly. She got like...90/100. See? My daughter can't study for crap etc etc" I understand that many of them come from harsh pasts, I'll give them that. But does it make it necessary to make the child's life absolute hell? Telling them that everyone gets decent scores except you? Really. And when it comes to a maths test, they are on your heels more than anything else. Me, yes. You, likely :] Sighs...now that I come to think of it...I really do suck at studying for tests. I get to involved in doing stuff like Facebooking and updating this blog. Man, I suck. Oh well. Huh? You telling me to study instead of updating this? Heh heh. NO WAY >D Laters, ♥Kookiemonstah.xx

Comparing and Money: Every Asian's Life
Before I Start Sorry for the incredibly..."long period of absence". Just having some internal battles with depression and some personal issues. Really sorry! Now, Let us Begin Like in that Chonny video, "all asians love comparing their kids, even more than money". You know, as soon as I saw that video, my first reaction was, "Damn, he is so right". And asians love money? Oh sure. I was an offender and I still am. Seriously, when I was younger, I had ALWAYS dreamed of living in a mansion and having money practically pouring in, without having to lift a finger. Admit it, you do too (or something related, close enough >_>). Back to the topic of being compared, yes, Asian parents do it a LOT. No kid from a caucasion background would have to deal with the torture of having their parents bragging about how someone made a billion bucks per day (...a bit exaggerated, yeah :D). And even if they did, it wouldn't compare to the braggin' from an asian parent. Not even close. You know, back at primary school, I had an "Italian/Australian" (she spoke French and called it Italian, I tell ya) girl, who kept complaining and gloating about how her parents pushed her for academics. She CLAIMED that her parents had made her do MOUNTAINS of maths homework and sent her to a GAZILLION coaching schools. When I asked her if her teacher was an asian, she said this, "NO, there were absolutely no asians in sight. I didn't think they were allowed." Two things. I know I have been going against the caucasion side of the world, but I did it not-so-directly (i hope). But that statement right there was as low as anything could get. Second thing. A coaching school without an asian? Not one? That must be unheard of. As far as I am concerned, asians RULE when it comes to taking over every tutoring and coaching school in existence. We have our parents to thank for that. By the way, that girl, if you would like to know, didn't make it ANYWHERE near selective. Not even Tempe. Sad. Comparing their kids. Its what asian parents absolutely LOVE to do. Say, yesterday, my father came back from his job as a taxi driver, and soon as he got home, he began counting money. That, my friends, is SOLID proof that asians love money. Anyway, as soon as he finished, he's like "Hey (my chinese name), did you know that your uncle's brother's son's friend is a online salesman? He makes a ton of money from that job! etc etc." Really, would I give a shit about some guy's job? He could've just said something about BILL GATES. That guy makes a ton of money from his job. That's not the first time. And it won't be the last either. You know, personally, I think their trying to subtley threaten me. If I don't make a lot of money and "treat" (chyeah...repay all the money they've ever given me) get a good job, I'm as good as dead. You know, when I grow up, I want to be a mulitbillionaire without working. No? I can't do that? What a cute squishy brain you have. Good job :D Laters, ♥Kookiemonstah.xx
